On November 15th, 2020, Nguyen Hoang Group (NHG) cooperated with HCMC Sponsoring Association for People with Disabilities and Orphans; The Dental Association of HCMC University of Medicine and Pharmacy; The delegation of doctors, medical experts in the Health sector of Hong Bang International University (HIU) and well-known hospitals in HCMC organized free medical examinations and treatment for 2,000 people including orphans and underprivileged people with disabilities and students in difficult circumstances in HCMC.
A meaningful event for everyone
This medical examination and treatment program took place at the UK Academy International Bilingual School – UKA Binh Thanh, the examination team brought together more than 300 doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses and volunteers to support the work of screening, medical examination and treatment, medicine and gift distribution from 7:00am to 4:00pm.
The medical team provided eye exams for the elderly and students at the event
All medical activities focused on general services, ENT services, eye exams, optometry, refraction, dental examinations and treatment, musculoskeletal examinations and treatment, ultrasound, electrocardiogram, gynecological examination, medicine delivery and gift giving to 1,502 children, students and more than 500 underprivileged people, the elderly of 24 shelter houses, open houses, specialized schools, etc., in HCMC and surrounding areas, along with more than 200 health examinations for underprivileged students at 3 universities: Hong Bang International University, Hoa Sen University and Gia Dinh University.

On the side of UKA Binh Thanh, hundreds of teachers, staff and students of UKA Binh Thanh spent the entire weekend cleaning the spaces, preparing tables and chairs and on the event date, took care of the reception, guidance and logistics so that the medical examinations and treatment could be carried out smoothly, effectively and thoroughly.

Spreading love and “Human” spirit
Representative of the Organizing Committee, Father Anton Nguyen Ngoc Son, Vice President of the HCMC Sponsoring Association for People with Disabilities and Orphans said: “On the occasion of the International Day of the Poor, through this event, our wish is to be connected with sincere and goodwill people to bring peace and health to poor brothers and sisters in society. The event is also a reminder, a humanity lesson for students and volunteers to live for each other.”

The examination team of Hong Bang International University (HIU) included 13 doctors, pharmacists and 50 volunteers who are students of HIU Health Department, Doctor Lam Huu Duc – Deputy Dean of Dentistry Faculty shared: “HIU medical professionals, doctors, pharmacists, teachers and students are very excited to join the event to take care of patients with disabilities as well as orphans, etc. In addition, this event is also an opportunity for us to inspire students with a spirit of mutual love and community service.”

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh – Principal of UKA Binh Thanh – where medical examination and treatment activities took place, shared his feeling when participating in this meaningful activity. He emphasized: “The message of NHG in this school year is Year of Heart. Not only me, but all the teachers, students, staff and volunteers of UKA Binh Thanh were very happy and touched when participating in this event and felt that their activities contributed meaning to the community. This event is also an opportunity for UKA Binh Thanh students to foster the spirit of compassion, understanding and sharing with difficult circumstances of their unlucky peers. From there, students have the motivation and the right learning attitude and can constantly spread their love to the community.”
