With the advantage of being the only university in the coastal city of Vung Tau City in the Southeast region, Ba Ria – Vung Tau University in recent years has been selected by more and more parents and students. For 2021, BVU has opened many new majors to meet local human resource needs, such as Finance – Banking, Marketing, Chinese Language, and Automotive Engineering Technology.

Students in the two majors will have a lot of opportunities to learn from real-world experiences at the university, thanks to our teams of excellent lecturers who are also business leaders and leading experts in finance, banking, and marketing.

“Meanwhile, the Chinese Language major is developed from the Chinese Language discipline in the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences. Chinese language, as a major, offers lots of potential, thus attracting both students and parents in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province and the whole country.”
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Loc added: “Along with the economic development of the province and surrounding areas, marine economics and trade have also boosted up the demand for human resources who are good at foreign languages such as English, Chinese day by day. That is to say, the students will see many doors open wider in the coming years.”

At BVU, classrooms are also a place to practice presentation skills.
Catching up with the development of the automotive industry in Vietnam and worldwide, the Automotive Mechanics discipline under the Mechanical Engineering Technology major at BVU has been developed into the Automotive Engineering Technology major under the Faculty of Engineering Technology and High-tech Agriculture.
At BVU, students will be trained to obtain skills of proficiently using automotive diagnostic machines to detect and repair damage on new models of cars. Other skills are for proficiently using applied software solutions in design and mechanics.
Automotive Engineering Technology is also one of the majors with the participation of experts and business leaders. During the launching ceremony of the new major, BVU signed cooperation agreements with enterprises such as Toyota, THACO, City Ford, Honda, Kia… to help students practice, improve their skills, and apply knowledge and skills in automobile production management and technology process in practice at automobile assembly workshops, parts factories, car registration centers, automobile maintenance and repair centers, showrooms, auto companies.

In the academic year 2021 – 2022, BVU organizes admissions thru 4 methods: admission based on high school academic results, the results of high school graduation exam, the results of the Competency Assessment exams of Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, and direct admission. Candidates can apply for admission in the different ways and can choose the one with the best result. The selection methods are equally valid. BVU is in the top 10 private universities and the top 70 universities in Vietnam, according to Webometrics and Unirank rankings. In June 2020, BVU was officially rated as a 3-star institution by QS Stars, the rating system of British organization Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd.
It was evaluated excellently for the group of important criteria of a university such as: Teaching – 4 stars, Employability – 5 stars, Academic Development – 5 stars, Facilities – 5 stars, Inclusiveness – 5 stars. In addition, BVU is also one of the universities that have been granted the certificate of accreditation of educational institutions in accordance with the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
