Over 600 coats donated by UKA Gia Lai to Vietnam’s central highlands children

Winter arrived with the cold rushing back to the great mountain towns. In remote areas, there are thousands of children who are lacking warm clothes in the harsh weather of 12-13 degrees Celsius every night. In order to bring relief, UK Academy Gia Lai launched the charity program WARM COATS FOR YOU.

Smallest Acts Bring Biggest Changes

After 1 month of launching the program, UKA has received more than 600 coats and 400 gifts for children in remote areas. Although some were previously used, all of them are carefully selected, cleaned, and neatly folded so that they can be given to the children. Not only that, UKA students also choose their beloved toys and books to give to their friends. Student Phuc Thuan, Class 1.1, brought a lot of toy cars with him to give to the children at the village school with the hope that they would be as happy when someone gave him a toy.

After the trip, the children of UKA Gia Lai became mature. They understood what it is to share with and love those who are in difficult situations, appreciate and be grateful for what they have more.

Mr. Hai Dang, the parent of Quoc Dung, said, “Love is the first lesson that every child feels from the moment they were born. Help your children practice how to express themselves. Parents always encourage their children to take actions, give praise when their children do good deeds. Thank you to the teachers of UKA Gia Lai School for helping the children have an environment for comprehensive development of Body – Mind – Intellect.”
