The school year ended earlier than planned due to the complicated situations of the Covid-19 epidemic. However, the learning spirit of UKA Ha Long students did not go down but became stronger. Then good news came as awards appeared from international competitions.
UKer Luong Khac Quan from Class 1.1 has secured achievements at the International Kangaroo Math Competition (IKMC). Khac Quan made every effort to get into the top 10 in the competition. The slim boy with bright smiles has made the school proud of him.
At the AIMO International Mathematical Competition Arena, up to 5 UKers brought home prizes. Truong Vu Hoang Minh from Class 7.2 took a gold medal, while a silver medal went to Vuong Gia Huy from Class 7.2. Meanwhile, three bronze medals belong to Tong Pham Thai Phong and Bui Quang Minh (Class 7.2), and Trinh Thien Phong from Class 2.3.
The five medal winners from UKA Ha Long had competed with other contestants in from 63 provinces and cities across the country (about 10,000 contestants in all). Their teachers and friends expect them to continue to shine in other competitions.
Big success for UKA Ha Long also came from SASMO – the Singapore and Asia International Mathematic Olympiads. This year, the SASMO exam was held in Vietnam with 14 examination destinations across the country.
The Quang Ninh Examination Council saw nearly 200 candidates. Phan Nguyen Minh Minh from Class 4.1 of UKA Ha Long obtained a silver medal. The promising prizes went to Vu Duc Nam (Class 2.2), Tran Phuong Thao (Class 4.1), Truong Vu Hoang Minh (Class 7.2)
The winning spirit of the UKers has reached to all other UKers at other UKA schools.
